New FC Barcelona third strip features two shades of yellow

Nike and FC Barcelona have revealed the third new kit for the 2014/15 season

The new shirt goes on sale on September 25, and can now be reserved from nike.com/fcb

Nike and FC Barcelona have revealed the new third kit for the 2014/15 season, which consists of the two shades of yellow that were used in the famous 2005 second kit. The shirt, shorts and socks all feature a strong, bright yellow on the front and a darker shade of the same yellow on the back. The two shades are divided by a blue line, and the same blue is used for the trim in honour of one of the two traditional colours of the FC Barcelona first strip.

These stripes lead from the neck, along the shoulders, and down the sides of the shirt, shorts and socks. When the players move, the line moves to accentuate the outline of their bodies, creating the sensation of speed. The new shirt, which can now be reserved atnike.com/fcb will go on sale on September 25. Shortly after, the first team will be wearing it for the first time in an official match, the Champions League fixture away to Paris Saint Germain on September 30.

Vibrant colours

"This half-and-half appearance is a traditional football design, but we’ve added a new twist”, said Nike Football Global Creative Director, Martin Lotti. "We wanted to use vibrant colours, so these uniforms, at night and under floodlights, will seem shinier against the grass. Under a dark sky, these uniforms will look electric, as if charged by batteries and providing the ground with a flash of almost electrical colours”.
There is a classic look to the shirt design, with a sophisticated polo neck including three buttons in the darker shade of yellow. The right sleeve features a small Catalan flag.

Inside the back of the neck there is a small tab showing the FC Barcelona ‘Més que un club’ slogan and the date of its foundation, 1899, while the name ‘Barça’ appears on the outside in the same iconic blue as used on the rest of the kit.

Carles Puyol starts new job

Monday was Carles Puyol’s first day of his new position at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. The new assistant director of sport arrived at the offices for a meeting with the man he’ll be working most closely with, Andoni Zubizarreta.
After being shown around the offices and introduced to the other members of the department, Puyol joined Zubizarreta out on the training field, where they watched Luis Enrique and his players preparing Wednesday’s Champions League opener against Apoel. The last time Puyol attended a session was on September 3, although there were very few first team players around at the time due to international commitments.

Saturday in the stadium

Puyol was also at the Camp Nou last weekend to watch the game with Athletic Bilbao along with Zubizarreta in the presidential box.

Dream debut for Munir

The 18 year old marked his official first team debut with a goal

Afterwards, he described the experience as a ‘dream’

The presence of Munir el Haddadi in Luis Enrique’s starting line-up was one of the talking points of tonight’s game with Elche. The youngster was simply outstanding. He issued his first warning after 22 minutes with a shot onto the crossbar, and for the remainder of the first half provided plenty of examples of his sublime skill and natural gift for losing his marker.
If he’d looked good in the first 45 minutes, the second half couldn’t have got off to a better start. With his first touch of the ball, he collected a pass from Rakitic and struck home with the kind of elegance few would expect of a player so young. He was replaced in the 66th minute, and the crowd responded with a rousing ovation.

"I’ll keep working for more chances”

After the game, Munir said that “I am so proud to have scored at the Camp Nou with Messi and so many other great players around me. I’m very happy. It was a dream come true to play with them … Luis Enrique has told me to keep doing what I do, and so I’ll keep working for more chances. He tells us to work hard and get better every day. He’s a great manager.”
The striker also confessed that he’d not been able to sleep the night before the game because he was so excited about being named in the team. He then talked through the big moment of the night – his goal. “It came because if you keep losing your marker, sometimes you get there” he said. “I saw the goalkeeper was off his line and just chipped the ball”. A strikingly humble response after scoring such an astounding goal on his first team debut!

Preseason top scorer

Munir had already shown us what a talent he is by finishing the preseason as the team’s highest goalscorer. He scored two in Helsinki and then did likewise against Club Leon at the Joan Gamper Trophy.

The French player of Valencia was a top priority of the Catalan club to strengthen its defense. While the club proposed to do it in four installments Valencia in Mestalla require the disbursement of 20 'kilos' is cash. In the end, both clubs have reached an agreement in this regard.

The curious case that the player has embarked Valencia this morning with the rest of his teammates headed to Madrid, heading to Peru, but the player is stuck in Madrid and has not taken the flight to Lima to be formalized recruitment for the club.
